Update......
Ok- guys I'm almost caught up. Just our trip to Columbus and Christmas. I shall return at a later day to post. Enjoy!
And the winner is....Parker and Aiden Webb
Aiden, the 2nd place winner, said beauty is penguins. Without a doubt we knew he would pick that. Aiden decided to paint a penguin. It turned out a little goth, but the judge thought it was great. He earned 2nd place in the same category as Parker. Primary Visual Arts!
The judge was Chris Yambar the illustrator of the Simpson's comic. He was awesome. It was more awesome for Jason to meet him than the boys, since he has been watching the Simpson's for years and years. He was a funny guy and really had a good time talking and drawing for the kids who entered and won.
Parker's picture will go on to a district competion and if he wins that it will go on to a state competion. We are keeping our fingers crossed for him to go all the way...National!
You can imagine how Aiden reacted...being the artist of the family! Ticked he came in second place and Parker getting first. Both were extrememly excited in the end. The school put on an ice cream social to hand out awards and Jason and I both got to be there to see the smiles on their faces. It was a glorious day!
1st Annual Gingerbread Party
A Sandwich Factory reunion! WooHoo. Just in time for the holidays. Susie decided that we should all get together and make gingerbread houses at her home. So all the oldies got together and each made a house! (thanks Joe ;0)!!!) We had lots of fun reminicing about the old days and catching up on new happenings. We all seem to be in a different place in our lives now, so hearing the gossip was great fun and it was nice to see everyone. Lots has happened in the past 17 years. I cannot believe it has been that long since I originally started there. Man- I was just 16! I'm 34 now! All that truly matters is that we are healthy.
Parker's Play...The Elves' Impersonator
In first grade, the students put on a holiday play every year. Parker was a choir member. He's not much for getting up in front of a crowd like that. Plus, I don't think he had a choice. He had a good time practicing and performing for the fellow parents. The school did lots of holiday crafts that they seemed to enjoy. Christmas is always an enjoyable time at school. :) I'm not biased or anything ;)
Aiden's 6th birthday
Aiden's 6th birthday was quite the funfilled day. We celebrated with friends during the day and family at night. Thanksgiving weekend is always the beginning of our holiday season. Ok- so Aiden had some close friends over for a penguin party. We ate pizza and decoarted cupcakes instead of a cake. It was a reallt good time. Thank goodness for Aunt Karri and Uncle Jamie who always help with our parties since we always choose to cram 2 in one day. Lots of pics were taken, but these a just a few to give you a glimpse.
So Aiden is now 6. How time flies by? He is so independent and DRAMATIC. Did I mention that once before? I think I did. He is definitely concerned with his clothes and his hair. Pants, socks and shoes MUST fit perfectly or else. Jason has had some trying mornings before school. Oh, just about EVERYDAY! Textures really bother him. Underwear cannot ever show. He will bend and move in all sorts of ways and if even one seam or thread shows it's a huge event of changing and starting the process all over again. Jason! Well, he's going crazy!
Aiden continues to practice facial expressions in every possible mirror or reflective surface. He's a Jim Carrey in the making. Furthermore, he draws just about everything. he is just like his daddy. Drawing and creating and making art is his favorite pasttime. He sees things in a way I cannot even fathom. Jason, however, can relate! :)
Thanksgiving 2009
On the infamous steps at Great Grandma and Grandpa Rogers', a wonderful family photo was taken....as is every year. We Webbs squish together and smile. the kids this year were much more cooperative. Grandma and Grandpa weren't up to taking pictures this year. However, the family put together a wonderful meal and it was nice to share with all of our out-of-town family. All of Ginny's sisters and brother were in. What a nice time!
Later in the evening we headed over to my parents where we started a new tradition of stringing popcorn and cranberries for the Boda tree. The girls strung popcorn as the boys put up the tree and hung lights. It was quite different from every other year but very fun!
p.s. Aiden is so dramatic! I hope he's my movie star!
